When a volumetric pump with a moving piston (such as those used to inflate bicycle, motorbike or even car tyres) expels air, it is transmitted to the inner tube by means of a conduction element: thenozzle.

As the air leaves the nozzle, it is propelled towards the inner tube in all the directions available to it. As a result, the valve on your tyre is subjected to a force that pushes it away, given its dimensions (air being a gas, it tries to occupy all the space available, despite the fact that the force of the air pressure is directed towards the valve).

By increasing the length of the circuit between your pump and your valve, the inflation extension makes it possible to direct the air molecules, as well as making the whole thing more watertight (the extension literally acts as a hermetic pipe connecting the valves to your pump).
